We've answered some frequently asked questions about working as a temporary employee of Coverstaff. Here are a few tips for working as a temporary employee to ensure you are always in work and enjoy it.
- What is the policy if I'm unable to go to work?

If for any reason you are absent from your assignment, you must notify your local Coverstaff branch as soon as possible. This allows Coverstaff to inform our client before your agreed start time.
- What if I'm going to be late for work?

Call Coverstaff as soon as possible, certainly before your start time.
- What should I do if something changes?

Contact Coverstaff if your job is due to finish, your availablility changes, your contact details change or if you now have additional skills.
- What should I do if I am injured while on assignment?

If an accident occurs and you are injured while at work advise your on site supervisor and call your Coverstaff branch immediately. We need to be notified so that we can ensure that you are given the care and attention that is necessary.
- What if I'm unable to complete a current assignment?

Call your Coverstaff branch immediately, so that we can endeavour to find another role for you.
- What should I do if my job duties are different than those that were described to me?

Please notify your Coverstaff branch immediately, so we can review your assignment immediately.
- What if I have a question about my pay?

Call your local Coverstaff branch and we will try and answer your query immediately.
- When can I expect to be paid?

Payday is Thursday of the week following provided we have your timesheets, hours, IRD and bank account numbers. If we do not have any one of these we can not pay you and that is not what we want!
- When should I hand in my timesheet?

All timesheets must be handed in by 1.00 p.m. Monday afternoon in order to be paid on time. Most companies using Coverstaff employees no longer use paper timesheets (there is still the odd example) so most of the time our client will forward your hours. But it is best to check.
- What should I do if my assignment has ended?

Call your Coverstaff branch. We will then try to place you in a new assignment at the earliest opportunity.
- What if I'm having problems at work or don't like the job?

Call your Coverstaff branch as soon as possible so we can try and help solve the problem or see if we have another job for you.
- What if the client offers me a permanent position?

Call your Coverstaff branch who will help ensure everything goes smoothly with the transition to your new permanent role.
- How long does an assignment last?

Assignments vary in length from one day to twelve months or longer. Some may become permanent but most of our jobs are temporary.
- When I am on assignment for one of Coverstaff's clients, who is my employer?

Coverstaff is always your employer. Your Coverstaff branch is your contact for all work assignments or issues. Call if you have any concerns, questions or queries.
